Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

My ex-wife hasn't seen or spoken to my child in 2.5 years and hasn't paid any child support for 3 years. My wife would like to adopt. Are there grounds to terminate parental rights?

My firm has handled several step-parent adoptions, and in Illinois it can be a rather straightforward process. I wouldn't necessarily use the word "grounds" regarting terminating parental rights. there are certain things the court requires for a step-parent adoption, and I highly recommend hiring an attorney to help you.
