Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Does a father who has joint custody have the right to ban the childrens mother's live in boyfriend from picking the kids up from school? ( He is a convicted felon who just got off from early parole.) Does the mother of the children need consent of the father to change schools? The children reside with the mother a little more than half of the time. Do grandparents have any rights?
