Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Me and my fiance live together in my apartment and we are planning on getting married in June. Would us getting married negatively or positively effect the custody case he plans to get custody of his daughter?

Unless you are a convicted sex offender, know drug user, or had you own parental rights terminated for abuse and neglect, a marriage should have a positive effect on a custody determination. The both of you should talk to your finance's attorney, however, to get a more informed opinion.
