Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
I have filed for divorce and our first court date is November 2, 2010. We both originally agreed to not retain laywers due to our financial situations but now 6 days before court I find out he has one. I cannot afford a lawyer so I have to represent myself. What should I expect, what should I be prepared for and what rights do I have? Any advice would be helpful.

Having no idea what the court date is for it is difficult to answer. Cases are up for hearings or status. What motions, if any, have been filed and are being presented. If he can afford a lawyer maybe he can pay for your lawyer too.
