Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I filed a motion for temporary relief. The court date was to be tomorrow, however, my estranged husband's attorney states that because of his (the attorney) health issues that he can't make it to court. What happens now? How can this be rescheduled when it's for temporary relief? I don't understand how this can be. It seems like some sort of tactic to avoid court and giving me maintenance and that my husband's attorney is using this tactic to go along with my husband trying to avoid this maintenance.

If it's a hearing, it may be rescheduled.

You are probably correct on all counts. You should go to court anyway and let the Judge know that the other side is trying to continue the case over your objections. Court will probably grant one short continuance but will be leary about doing it a second time.
