Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

My finanacial obligation to my friends ex-wife

My boyfriend owes his ex-wife back child support because of being unemployed, and now being self-employed he is looking to have his child support modified. Her attorney has requested MY banking records, has taken pictures of my house ( he lives with me), and has inquired about my children, their ages, etc. I feel very harrassed, as I don't feel that I have any obligation towards this women, aside from making sure that she gets what is due her finacially from my boyfriend. Is it legal for her attorney to suppoena my records and be inquiring about my children and my personal financial situation?

Thank you for your help,

J. in Illinois

No, your financial records are not relevant to your boyfriend's debt. You are not married to him. You must hire an attorney to assert your rights. please call for a free consultation.
