Well, here's a thumbnail: you file a name change petition in cook county, Daley Center, rm. 1202. Same day you go to court and get a return court date in about six weeks. Meanwhile, you must publish legal notice of the name change case that runs for three weeks. Is this related to a previous divorce? This may not be necessary if a divorce allowed for a name change.
