Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Fraud

I was ordered to pay my ex wife $2,500 in January. I wrote her a check and it bounced. I then had my father write a check for the $2,500 so she was paid those moneys. In February I wrote my ex wife a check for $1,350 that was owed to her. Instead of cashing the $1,350 check she still had the $2,500 and cashed this. How can I get this money back and is there any sort of fraud on her part that could put her in trouble with the law?

Re: Fraud

Hello. In my opinion, you are entitled to a credit for the extra money that your ex-wife received. However, your remedy here may be to go back to court and ask the court to order her to refund the extra money to you. Will be happy to discuss this further and in more detail.
