Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

My friend has been married for little over a month and has decided that he married the wrong person. How would he go about getting a cheap quick divorce or an annulment?

The parameters for granting an annulment are limited to very specific situations, typically when you learn something about a person that you didn't know prior to the marriage, that was misrepresented by the person you married, and that is detrime tal to the marriage now. I'd need to know more details to see if you qualify for an annulment as they are hard to obtain. If you both don't own any property and haven't been married long, a divorce should be quick and straightforward. You two could even come to an agreement in writing, called a marital settlement agreement, and enter it yourselves along with the proper pleadings. Only contested divorces tend to cost a lot of money and last a long time. You will have to pay filing fees, however, whether or not you decide to hire an attorney.
