Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

my girlfriends lawyer will not help her unless she payss 2500 more dollars her soon to be ex knows her back is against the wall and has set an injuction for full custody of her 11 and 15 yr old who do not want to be with thier abusive dad. but she is scared and doesnt know where or what to do. what are her options

Option 1 - Pay her attorney

Option 2 - Hire a new attorney, pay that person (hopefully less money)

Option 3 - Represent herself (and probably risk losing her children).
