Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
I am the grandmother to 2 children. Their father is my oldest son. I was there for my children and wanted to be for my grandchildren. My son and his wife allow his father and stepmother to baby sit the kids and I am not. Because I got upset over this they will not talk to me or am I allowed to see my grandchildren at all. It has been 9 months and I live 15 miles from them. There are more facts to this situation. Important facts. My question is I live in the state Of Illinois. Do grandparents have the right to visitation. I had the most wonderful relationship with my grandson who is 3 yrs. I know he loved me so much. He would always come running yelling Grammy.

Your rights as a grandparent are secondary to the child's parents to rasie the child as they see fit. If both parents agree to restrict your visitation, it will be very hard for you to see the child.
