Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Grandparent's Rights

My daughter refuses to let me see my three granddaughters. I thought I heard somewhere that grandparents have rights when it comes to visitation with their grandchildren. Is there anything I can do legally to facilitate visitation with my granddaughters?

Re: Grandparent's Rights

Hello. Yes, in Illinois

grandparents do have rights,

including the right to visit

with grandchildren. A petition needs to be filed in

the Circuit Court where you

live, but get an attorney.

Trying to do this on your own

could be difficult.
