Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
guardianship of grandson
My son is 18 years old and he has a 16 month old son. The baby's mother her is 16. Her mother is trying to get guardianship of my grandson. Can she so this? Can my son contest it? I think she is doing this because she wants control of my grandson and she doesn't want us to see him. She will not even let her daughter call over here or come over anymore.

Re: guardianship of grandson
Your son should file a paternity case in court and claim he is the father. Then he should seek custody of the child. The grandmother has no standing to contest the paternity. The suit should name the mother. Please call for a free consultation.
