Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Guardianship

My 17 year old son had a child with his 16 year old girlfriend. The girlfriend's parents want to file for guardianship of the person in order to be able to provide health insurance for the child. What impact does that have on the parental rights of my son? Can they take the child out of the state? Can they deny visitation?
