Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I am being harrassed via email and text message by an exboyfirend who is also keeping my property and refusing to release it. I have moved out (2 mos ago) but still in the same area. I would like to address both issues as I am at a loss on how the process works. I am seeking legal advice and thinking of what options I have to file a restraining order as I feel the situation may escalate. Thank you for any guidance you may be able to provide in regards to the matter above.
