Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Hi:

I have been divorced for 3 yrs. My ex only gives me 300.00 a month support for my 12 yr. old autistic son. My husband and I make very little money and our insurance is costing us a fortune. Is my ex responsible for anything else like part of his son's insurance? Is there any way I can get him to pay more for his son's expenses w/o having to go back to court? His father is a mean and incorigable man who works for cash for a large share of his income and only "makes" enough to pay his bills. Going to court with him is "Bloody." In the divorce agreement I am suppose to give him my son's deduction every other year. This will be the first year I do that. He does not fulfill IRS's financial requirements for even "earning" that right. We also lose the earned income benefit. Thanks, Nancy
