Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Homeowners rights

Does my 22 year old daughter have any rights to my home? I pay all the bills and taxes, and I own the home through a Trust. I need to leave the home, and am having difficulty with my daughter. The Trust officer is saying she has residency rights, because she has lived there for more than 30 days. I was wondering if that would only fall under squatters rights.

Thank you!

Re: Homeowners rights

No property rights. But any person who resides somewhere has to be evicted in a legal manner. Not a big deal to evict someone. Similar to evicting a tenant for not paying rent.

Re: Homeowners rights

A person who lives with you but is not an owner has no rights. I suppose I could see some possible difficulties in getting her out of the property if she really forced the issue but there are ways to handle that too. No proceed with selling the home if that's what you want to do.
