Is the house that I purchased before a marriage considered community or martial property in Illinois ?

Generally, assets purchased before marriage are NOT marital property. HOWEVER, non-marital property can be considered converted to marital property after marriage.

Therefore, an attorney would have to have more information to answer whether your house is considered marital or non-marital property.
