Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
my ex husband and I agreed by notarized letter to allow our son to live with his grandparents for a term of 9 months (a school year) and then he was to be returned. Now my husband and I are divorcing and he is in another state, my son is still in IL with his grandparents but they will not allow me (mother) to see him or talk to him. I have 2 other children who are with me now that belong to my husband but he and his parents are now trying to lie and say untrue and detrimental things about me in court that they can not prove. How can I get custody of my son back. The grandmother filed for and received temporary guardianship of him without proving I was unfit or deceased.
1 Answer from Attorneys
You say you are divorcing. Do you have an attorney or is this a do-it-yourself situation. If you have an attorney we can not interfere and you need to get your attorney to deal with the situation, or hire another attorney. If you do not have an attorney and you are looking for free legal advice in this kind of forum for this kind of complicated legal matter that involves YOUR CHILDREN, I have only three words of advice: HIRE AN ATTORNEY.
