my husband and i are buying a house off of my father "contract for deed" but we are getting divorced. If my husband signs a quick claim release will this terminate all his legal right and interest to the house now and in the future?

That's a tricky question without seeing any documents, but rather than just a quit claim, you might think about amending the contract for deed, and if you've recorded the original contract for deed, record the amendment as well.
