Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

If my husband died and I remarried, is my late husband's mother still my mother-in-law?

I'm not sure which law this falls under. I want to take off work for the funeral of my mother-in-law and wonder if I can use funeral leave.

Based on my understanding of your inquiry, your legal issue relates to employment law rather than family law. Generally, employers grant an employee the right to attend funerals of family. Although your previous mother-in-law may no longer be your actual mother-in-law, your employer could still grant such right. However, it is advised to check with your supervisor/employer.
