Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

My husband and I have been divorced for five years. He is a retired Chicago firefighter. The judge awarded me thiry five percent of his pension. A QILDRO must be submitted to the fire dept before I can receive any money. The attorney never did this before I dismissed him. Is there anything I can do on my own if I can't afford another attorney after five years.

If he's already drawn the pension, not much anyone can do. Talk to an attorney, see if there's anything that can be done. The QILDRO has to be approved by the plan administrator, then motioned up to the judge to sign, then re-submitted back to the administrator.

I'd recommend getting on this issue ASAP.
