Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I'm currently a husband I expect to be served with a divorce subpoena very soon. What will a divorce subpoena say and what will I be expected to do? Will the subpoena come with a proposed settlement attached? Most importantly am I a fool if I don't hire a lawyer?

You are anticipating a summons. i will merely say you have x number of days to file an appearance, and if you do not, a default will be entered against you. You may, instead of a summons, receive a letter from your wife's attorney, which may include a proposed settlement agreement.
