Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

My husband filed for divorce last year. I've been flying back and forth from l.a. to Chicago attending hearings and I have some paperwork. I don't know if I attended a prove up hearing. Why is a prove up hearing necessary? Was one of my past hearings a prove up hearing? (FYI, you people told me to fire my lawyer. And I have been attempting to get a new one,but I can't get one quick enough.)(Don't answer to this post if you're not going to answer my question directly.)Why is a prove up hearing necessary? One only attend a prove-up hearing if the cause is settled. Only the petitioner need appear for that hearing. The law requires that someone testify in support of a petition for dissolution. It does not just happen because both parties want it.

That appears to answer both questions you propose.
