Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

My husband and I are still married but having major difficulties in the marriage, he wants to take kids out of town for weekend but I don't want them to go. Is he able to do that?

Until you file a petition for divorce, yes. The police can not get involved with parental duties unless there's a court order delineating responsibility/possession/custody. That only occurs with legal separation & divorce.
