Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

my husband served me with divorce papers but he blames me for the marrriage ending which is a lie because i had him arrested for domestic violence and he was cheating i wanted to know what is it i can do to change whats in the divorce papers because he lied through the whole thing and we are still in court for his domestic abuse and he didnt put that into the divorce

I am guessing the language which bothers you is "repeated and extreme mental cruelty" which is the least "ugly" of the grounds for divorce in Illinois. If you feel strongly about this, you can file a counterclaim, but this will increase the costs of your divorce.
