Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Any ideas to collect back child support from an attorney ex-husband? My ex has the ability to stall/petition/venue change/request superfluous documents in a legal fashion throught the court system. He stopped paying over a year ago, and initially filed to modify support. My attorney responded as needed, showed up in court and attempted to deal with my ex. Long story short, I spent over $8,000 on legal fees with nothing to show for it. I decided to drop the legal fight since it was evident I would be spending more money to fight it than I would receive in child support. Obviously it doesn't cost my ex anything since he represents himself and has an office right across from the court house. It would be difficult to take off work, both financially & schedule-wise, to represent myself since my ex knows this and would schedule as many depositions/court dates as possible. I have no attorney now. Any thoughts?
