In Illinois, at what age can children can request or determine which divorced parent?

There is no "age," and the wishes of the children under the IMDMA (Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act), are given only nominal consideration. Judges typically will have an in-camera interview with the children if there's a concern over preference - you will not be allowed to be present during this interview.
