Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Illinois Child support

I am asking a question for a friend about child support. At the time of the divorce, the amount was based on the previous years income. Since then his income dropped about $10,000.The question he has is about how the percentage is figured.Last year he had more overtime and that has gone down. The court said he was to start paying child support after the marital residence sold. The house is about to be sold and he wants to have the amount adjusted for the income he is now making. Is the percentage based on hourly wages on a 40 week, being overtime is so undependable at his job? He is also in need of a good Father's Rights attorney in our area. His attorney has failed to do the job he was hired to do, especially for the kids.

Re: Illinois Child support

He needs to get a child support modification order in place to reflect his actual income. He will need proof of what he actually now earns of course. I would like some more information as to what the previous attorney failed to do on his behalf, so that I may offer my opinion. If nothing else, I would need to know what kind of services your friend needs. As a father myself, I feel great satisfaction in helping fathers stay in their cihldren's lives. I would like to beleive that I would go to bat for both men and women if they are wronged by the other side who may abuse the system.
