Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Illinois Marriage laws

When my husband and I got married he went by his step-fathers last name. He signed the marriage license using his step-fathers last name;which is what he went by but was not his legal last name. Because he signed the marriage license under an assumed name; is the marriage legal?
