Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Insurance coverage

If I am unable to work due to health issues, and my ex-wife is currently insuring my children can I be held accountable, even though my divorce papers say I am liable for insurance on my children.

Re: Insurance coverage

Oh, there is a potential for trouble here but I think my response would depend on your relationship with your former wife. If she's a good mother and you know that she'll get insurance for the child I'd just handle it outside of court. But there is the scenario where you could be on the hook for stuff if there were health expenses and the children weren't insured if it were your responsibility.

How 'bout basic child support? Is that still running now too? If your income has decreased you're entitled to changing these things...insurance, child support, other financial issues. Don't be like too many people who just let child support run and get behind when they are unemployed!
