Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

My issue is with my lawyer. I brought suit against my ex for reimbursement of children's expenses. We signed an "Agreed Order" last night, which settles all claims that I brought against him. The Order needs to be presented to the judge at a scheduled court date this week. I have a statement from my ex's lawyer, stating that he will present the Order to the judge. Can I now terminate my relationship with my lawyer? Or, must I have him be present at the court proceeding?

You have the right to terminate your lawyer at any time, subject to the court's approval. It may be best to wait until the order is entered. Once that is done and nothing pends before the court, you can terminate him without court review or approval.

Why would you trust the other attorney? Additionally, the judge does not have to accept the order( although it is rare that an agreed order is not entered). Keep your lawyer until the order is approved and entered by the court,
