Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Jail

My brother is in the middle of a custudy battle for his son. His ex-wife is already on probation for a recent drug conviction and he was told that his ex-wife was recently in jail again in a differnt state but doesn't know how to find out this information for sure. Can you tell me how he can look this up or if the judge in the custody case would already have this information even though it was in a different state. If she was in jail again would he be able to get custody of the his son right away?

Your brother needs to retain an attorney so that this situation can be brought before the judge so that he/she can decide on the custody of the child.

As far as checking to see if she is in jail your best bet is to contact the police department of the city/town she lived in.
