Although you have primary residence, under a joint custody arrangement, you must still make joint decisions regarding health, schooling and religion with the other parent. Depending on the agreement you signed, you may other other obligations as well. The other issue with joint custody is that you are required to mediate your differences if you cannot reach a joint decision. Joint custody doesn't change the parenting time for either parent, it just requires a willingness to discuss some important aspects of the child's life. If your child is already in school, then there is not much to negotiate there. Same with religion. For more information, visit, www.illinoislawforyou.com. Kimberly J. Anderson
