Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Joint residence for sale

A friend got divorced about 9 mo. ago.The house has been for sale. His X is living in it with their 2 children. She made up a bogus Ord. of Protect.to get him out, that was reversed. He has visitation on Tues.,Thurs., and every other weekend, but is only allowed in the house on Tues.&Thurs. even though he pays more than 1/2 of all the bills. He doesn't have a place of his own and stays with family or friends. He can't stay at the residence on his weekend visits, but she has her boyfriend stay there on the weekends and ships the kids off somewhere if it's her weekend. The kids are only 8 & 11 and this is very hard on them. They love spending time with their dad and are getting to where they don't want to go home. The X is constantly harrassing him and making up lies to try and get more money from him, while she lives the high life. His attorney has all he needs to get her on contempt of their divorce decree, but doesn't seem to understand the effect this is having on the kids. She says awful things to him that the kids have overheard. She's always pawning off the kids and then accuses him of not wanting to spend time with them.He has another court date coming up, we just hope the attorney is going to bring out her lies.Any suggestions?

Re: Joint residence for sale

If he has an attorney, he should bring all this up to the attorney and let that attorney do their job. As an attorney, I do not feel comfortable second guessing another attorney who actually has all the facts. If that attorney is not aggressively protecting your friends rights, then that friend will have to determine whether to keep that attorney.
