Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Judges Switched..

Well I just went to court for child support without an atty, and my ex had one (free of course) anyway, the Judge was very specific as to he was going to give me a break on the arrears because I had been paying her child support in money orders. So the Judge said from the date she filed (one year) he said to cut it in half which would make it 6mths, well her atty took it upon himself and put the whole year in arrears, and another judge entered it because our original had hip surgery. So I hired an atty, she filed a motion to modify, her atty never responded. When we get to court we find out that our original Judge no longer is going to be there. That he was going to be at the Daily Center. Not Randolph. So the new Judge denied everything because he wasn't there. And on top of that he wouldnt fix the child support mistake (her atty also did that wrong) because my atty filed the wrong motion, it was suppose to be to vacate or something like that. She said shes going to get a court date with the original Judge. IS this possible even though hes not doing child support anymore?

If the judge has been moved to a different division then I would have to believe it is going to be difficult to have him hear your motion. Were you in court when the order was entered? If so did you read the order before it was entered? If so then its going to make even harder to have that order overturned. I would sit down with your attorney and have her explain to you how she plans on handling this matter.
