Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

my kids father got primary joint custody of our kids due to me not being such a great mom but i now have a full time job and just bought myself a car and have a active checking and savings acct. He-the father- has now recieved two owi charges in iowa and also a child endangerment charge. do you think i have a chance to get primary joint custody back?

Is the case here or in Iowa? Did the owi charges happen after he got the kids? Too many variables. There is a chance, but we can not quote odds. Who is better for the kids right now,
