Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I would like to know what kind of settlement I will get in a divorce...I live in Illinois .... I've been married for 41 years and not looking forward to retirement with my husband...he is a drinker and gets verbally abusive and has for most of our married life. Unfortunately for me, I've taken jobs over the years that gave me flexbile hours instead of benefits.... (my husband traveled with his job and was in the Army Reserves for 22 years and I needed to be there for my 3 children) Consequently, I have no retirement benefits, no insurance and no pension, no inheritance ... NOTHING!!! I worked for 19 years for a company that closed it's doors one day and I received a small profit sharing account for about $8,000 and I currently work 2 part time jobs and bring home approximately $23,000 per year. My husband has a 401k, work pension, army pension, government insurance thru Tri Care as a part of his retirement from the Army Reserves and an inheritance, ....He claims that everything is his because his money has paid all of the bills, made mortgage payments on both our house and condo in Florida (the condo was purchase with an inheritance from his family but both of our names are on the house and the condo.) He threatens that I will not have the insurance coverage with Tri Care because he will take me off the insurance. I know that he is a bully and he is using "scare tactics" to make me stick around but it is getting very hard to live with an angry drunk!!!

Please let me know my rights after 41 years of marriage.

Thank you.

You are most likely entitled to 1/2 of all joint assets and 1/2 of his retirement accounts. You are also entitled to 1/2 the house and the condo. Alimony is also likely. Don't listen to him. His information is incorrect.
