Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

How do I leave without loseing everything

I have been married for 5 years, and have 2 children with my husband and 1 child from a previous, it has been very rocky and I have tried to leave many times, every time I do he says I can take a little clothes and that's it. He always makes a big fight and confrontation out of it very often he get's physical in a bullying way, he says I can go but I can't take the kids, and all the stuff has to stay. How do I get out without loseing everything I have. I'm afraid if I leave then anything of mine that is truly personally mine will be gone. He also has said if I take a day off work and take anything that he'll have me arrested for stealing. He is all talk when it comes to the kids, they're two little girls and he has no Day Care setup and has no mechanism set up to care for them, so I'm not really worried about that, I just need to know how to get out of this marriage without having it cost me everything I had before the marriage and everything I have worked for since then. Please Help.

You must get an order of protection. He won't be able to harrass you or harm you.
