Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I just left my ex after he was arrested for domestic disturbance. I dropped the charges but did not move back and filed for divorce. I took our 10 month old son with me. He has anger issues, drinking issues, prescription pill problems and just has not spent much time interacting with our son. He also was contacting men and women online for sex. I have proof of all these things. He has been told to stop texting be but does it all the time. He is contacting my family members and making up lies about me. They do not belive him but some had no clue he was arrested until he told them. He is now telling his lawyers I set the while thing up. He basically says if you do not do this the way I want I will make your life hell. What are my chances of getting primary and sole custody. I belive him to be a narraccist. There will never be any way to not fight. We are not religious so it would just be the school and medical issues that I would be in charge of for him. Plus he is so young he will not be in school for some time.

If you two can not communicate joint parenting is not appropriate. You should have pressed forward with the criminal case, although technically that would have not barred him from seeking custody. you will have to deal with him at least until your child completes college or trade school. We can not give you odds. If what you say is be;ived by the court, you mat be successful.
