Legal help

A friend of ours is 17 years old, can she come live with us without us getting in trouble with the law.

Assuming you're not like kidnapping her from her parents I don't see a problem merely w/ her living with you. A problem would be schooling. Unless someone would have a guardianship over this 17-year-old she'll probably remain a resident of where her parents live. If she's almost out of school it probably won't matter but it could come up if she has to register for a new school year next year.
