Legal GuardianShip/Custody of Children

My son is the father of twins whose mother passed away in 2002 with a heart attack. They never married, so the twins were left with the grandmother of the mother. My son has always been in their lives and he pays child support, medical, dental, vision, school, after school program, and help buy cloths and shoes. He works very well with the grandmother, but he recently found out just because he�s the father and they are living with the grandmother (she don't have legal guardianship), that he has no legal right to his twins. My son would like to have legal guardianship/ Custody.

Please advise!

If your son is the natural father then he has full custody rights. He must declare himself the natural father possibly petition the court to remove the child from the grandmother. Please contact my office so that I can ask you some more detailed questions about your son.
