Can I be legally engaged?

My fiance and I are currently engaged but I recently found out hes still married. They have actually been seperated for almost 2 years and are currently pending a divorce due for trial in november 2006. Is our engagement legal or does it become null in void. he did give me a diamond ring back in may 2006.

Hello. In my opinion, your engagement is a personal promise. Its personal between you and him. The legality of your arrangement is not a

legal issue at this stage.
