Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I am legally married and even though we still live in the same house we sleep separately. I have a girlfriend and want to move in with her in the near future without divorcing my wife since she is ill and has asked me not to do it. I want to know what legal hurdles could hit me if I moved in with my girlfriend either from my wife or my girlfriend should things go ugly on either side. Thanks!

"Dissipation of marital property" may be a hurdle for you. You should read about it; and then consult with an attorney to avoid any problems that may arise.
