Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

letter of cease and desist

i was told that a letter of the above will not be taken seriously by an x-lover. this letter will warn her that if she ever communicate with my husband again, she will be sued for disturbance of a blissful marriage. do you think she can counter that which will mean that she has taken this seriously? she keeps coming back every 10years. (this did ignite to my husband having feelings for her because she recalls their past) she is married and lives in Nebraska and we are in Illinois. please advice. thanks.

Re: letter of cease and desist

Such a letter has no effect. There's really nothing you can do unless it gets to a level where she's really harrassing you and then there might be criminal options or an Order of Protection.
