Letting step father adopt my daughter

My duughters mother is marrying next month. She has asked that I let her husband to be adopt my daughter. I would like to keep visitation rights, also if my daughters mother or step father are injured or killed in an accident I would like custody. Would I still be financially responsible for my daughter? Is any of this possible. This is a very big deal to me. I visit in Ill. 3 times a year.Should I contact an attorney in Il. or La.
