Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
I live in North Carolina and my ex lives in Illinois. We were divorced in Illinois, but it is a different county then where he lives. I have lived in NC for almost 3 years and he has lived in his county for 9. He now wants a change of venue to have the case moved to his county. I have family in the town it is at now, which helps save money on board and travel to and from court. I already spend over $300 a trip compared to his $30. I have custody of our two children. Do you think he will get the change? Or is it more likely to stay the way it is. We have been divorced since 2005 and I took the kids back from him in October of 2012

Divorce decrees are valid everywhere in Illinois. Yes he can and so could you. The fact that you moved will not affect things. You can fight the motion but doubt you will be successful.
