Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I have lived with my boyfriend 1yr and 9 months with my granddaught who we were adopting. He moved to SD in march 2009. I pay all utilities and second morgage. Nothing is in my name. He just recently broke up with me and wants me to move out. How long legally do I have to move out?

In theory you are his tenant and entitled to notice before you arwe firced to move out. He should give you a written 30 day notice to terminate your tenancy. If you receive that notice, at the end of that 30 days you are supposed to move out, If you do ot he has to file an eviction suit against you. You will get a short period of time after the court date to move out. However, he may ignore all of those requirements and change the locks.
