If I a m 17 and I leave home without permission, can I be forced to come home?

I am planning to live with a friend and her family. My parents know the family very well, including their address and all other contact information. My parents would know where I am, and that I am safe.

The part that confuses me is that since I am 17, I am below the age of majority and below the juvenile age range. Therefore, could I not be sent directly home if I left without permission? Thank you for your time.

Your parent scan give the people you will be living with short term guardianship of you. That will last until you are 18. Then you would be sent to their house.
