Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I was made to pay child support for an extra 10 years in the state of Illinois. It took me going to court now living in Wisconsin, going back and forth for years in the court system. My ex-wife continued to lie about the child support being owed. I have proven in court through all my check stubs that this money was never owed and after 10 years of fighting in court it was finally revealed that I was being made to pay money I never owed. Can I go back to court now and have the money repaid back to me?

It's possible; but even if the Judge orders the money be repaid to you, you still have to collect it from your ex. If she doesn't have adequate sources from which to pay you back, you may see very little, if any, of that money. And that is something that you have to consider when you're thinking about hiring an attorney and paying his legal fees to pursue this action in court.
